A Day at St. Jacobs

We live about an hour away from a place called St. Jacobs (a Mennonite community) with a great market on Thursdays and Saturdays.  On the weekends it gets really busy due to a huge popularity, so when the husband surprised me with taking the day off on  Thursday we decided to head up on the less busy day.  My in laws are huge fans of the place and go there often so they met us there.

The baby grabbed a snooze on the way there and honestly both boys were so awesome.   Lucas usually needs a little time to warm up to a new place so he refused to get out of the stroller for the first hour, which was a blessing in disguise cause it gave us time to do a little shopping without running interference with a toddler who needs to touch and see everything.

We grabbed some lunch and then headed home where both boys passed out hard within five minutes.  I enjoyed my coffee in silence and peace and capped off the evening with take out dinner.

At one of the local stores that sell knick knacks Lucas picked out a set of blocks cause he's been obsessed with building lately, and then proceeded to walk around with it.

Who says you can't be spontaneous when you have kids.
